The Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) Signing Second-phase Funding Agreement with Asian Studies Center, Zhejiang University

    The second Council meeting of Asian Research Center on December 16th, 2016 witnessed President Wu Zhaohui of Zhejiang University, as the Chinese director and President Park In-kook of KFAS, as the Korean director signing on the second-phase collaboration agreement. The ceremony was chaired by Prof. Luo Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University and the leaders from Academy of Social Sciences, School of Humanities and Zhejiang University Press were present.

    Zhejiang University Asian Research Center was established in May 2012. KFAS offered an annual funding of 200,000 US dollars to the Center in the first five years, during which, 16 international symposiums were hosted or co-organized, 11 young teachers financed for their visiting programs abroad, more than 10 research projects set up, 6 academic monographs funded for publication. In particular, under the cooperation between Zhejiang University and KFAS since 2014, Asian Research Center has published A Complete Collection of Korean Paintings due to the efforts of Chinese, South Korean, European and American scholars. At present, the first volume has collected the Korean paintings from America, France, Germany, Britain, Italy and other countries, and Zhejiang University, with the technical team of A Complete Collection of the Paintings of the Song Dynasty and A Complete Collection of the Paintings of the Yuan Dynasty has done a good job in image processing for the publication of volumes of high quality books.
