【Speaker Introduction】:Gavriel Salvendy is a University Distinguished Professor at the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida and founding president of the Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine of Florida. He is also professor emeritus of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and Chair Professor Emeritus and Founding Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R. China. He is the author or co-author of 579 research publications including 323 journal papers, and is the author or editor of 52 books. His main research deals with the human aspects of design, operation, and management of advanced engineering systems.
【Seminar Abstract】：This talk will cover the impacts of ergonomics in manufacturing and service industries, and demonstrate it as a supplement rather than a substitute for high quality scientific technical publications. In this way, the academic community will not only benefit the other faculty members to cite their work, but also benefit the end users in terms of improving the quality of life, productivity, and standard of living in China and around the world.
