The Master of Laws (LLM.) program and Doctor of Legal Science (SJD) program in Chinese Law of Zhejiang University offers intellectually outstanding international students the opportunity of pursuing advanced legal studies in a Chinese culture. Time flows and we always welcome and send off someone. With the summer graduation season’s coming, we are glad to see that a batch of our international students successfully graduated from Law School.
This year, 13 students majoring in LLM and SJD finally finished their study and bagged their degrees in Zhejiang University. Coming to a full stop here, they laughed, cherished and didn’t want to say goodbye. On this sunny Friday and Saturday, our students fully participated graduation ceremonies both in law school and the university. The commencement ceremony was held on Zijingang Campus, they gathered together with the other Chinese students for this holy moment. As the valedictorian said, learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere, and without the ever-helpful scholarly faculty, they cannot achieve success smoothly. Accompanied with tears, laughter and flowers, we wished them bright future after graduation. It is not to say goodbye, but see you again in the upcoming future.
Also, sharing these precious moments at the same time, let me take the great honor to briefly introduce our programs both for LLM (2-year master study) and SJD (3-year doctoral study). The two programs not only help students access to excellent courses and practice of Chinese law and culture, but simulate them to make thorough studies in related field on the basis of overall recognition. They enable students to engage in valuable independent research around issues of particular interest to them, and encourage to be proactive in developing a new skill and exploring a specific field of research. Both program are designed especially to benefit those seeking to specialize in particular areas of law, those desiring to experience China’s legal system and to broaden their intellectual horizons at the globalization age, with the aim of producing international law talents of higher level who are able to systematically master and skillfully apply Chinese law in various aspects. Currently, we have international students coming from more than 20 countries including the U.S., the U.K., Netherlands, Cambodia, Pakistan, Thailand, Russia, France, Kenya, Turkey, Jamaica, Congo, Ukraine, India, Canada, Guyana，Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Algeria, Czech Republic, Benin, Ethiopia, Tanzania etc.
Welcome to join us as one member of our law school in the near future. A promise goes that once you come with us, you will never feel repentant as we share the same aim of making you outstanding both in study and life.
