An Introduction to the Speaker: Associate Professor Steffanie Scott is a teacher in Department of Geography and Environmental Management, University of Waterloo, Canada. She got her Ph. D in the University of British Columbia and is currently director of Canadian Association for Food Studies (CAFS), member of Waterloo Region Food System Roundtable and Waterloo Food Issues Group. She innovated the assessment system for the sustainable development of urban food system and she is working on the development of organic and ecological agriculture in Southeast Asian countries, e.g. China and Vietnam.

Major Researches:

u  Sustainable development of agricultural system

- Production of organic and ecological food.

- Participation of small and medium producers in the food chain. 

- Assessment of local food system and urban and rural interplay in the food system.

- Rural life, management and agricultural transformation.

u  Function of environment development and green way of life
