Born in 1953, Yao Xianguo is a professor of economics, with research interests in human capital and human resource management, and labor economy and labor relations.

Prof. Yao's representative works include Polarization: Gospel or Disaster and Income Distribution of Socialist Enterprises. He has enjoyed the special government allowances of State Council since 1992. In 1997, Prof. Yao was selected as the cross-century young academic pacesetter of Zhejiang Province and the first level of “151 Talent Program” of Zhejiang Province; in 2003, he was rated as young scientific and technological personnel in Zhejiang Province who has made outstanding contributions. Skilled at English and German, Prof. Yao has visited, lectured or participated in international conferences in America, Germany and other 10 countries.
