Born in 1957, Xu Dai is a professor of literature specialized in literary aesthetics.

Since 1981, Prof. Xu has published nearly two hundred papers in Literature & Art Studies, Literary Review,Foreign Literature Review, Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, Academic Monthly andother famous academic journals. He has completed the key project of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Ministry of education and the key project of Zhejiang Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Planning, and has been awarded more than 10 first, second and third provincial prizes. His representative works include Theory of Art and Culture, Novel Narratology, Novel Morphology, Experience of Freedom and New Concept of Aesthetics.
