About the speaker:
Lin Yanping, a Chinese-Canadian born in Nanjing, got his doctoral degree of sciences and engineering from McGill University of Canada. He was once away from the city to settle in Taihang Mountain for 4 years and was among the first group admitted to the college after the restoration of the college entrance exams. Mr. Lin showed great interest in ancient Greek philosophy and civilization and Chinese history and civilization, and his wide reading and travelling strengthened his understanding of these two civilizations. His works include Illuminations of Olympics—Looking Back on Chinese and Western Civilizations, The Starry Night above Us.
