The ZJU Delegation Visited Two Universities in Norway
From May 28th to 30th, the delegation from school of public affairs led by Wang Lizhong, the Vice President of Zhejiang University, visited two universities in Norway - University of Oslo and University of Bergen.
During the visiting for University of Oslo, the Vice President Åse Gornitzka greeted the ZJU delegation and introduced the university briefly. Then, the discussion was launched mainly focused on Sino-Norwegian Centre for the Study of Society and Environment which was newly established. Both sides hoped to further promote the specific cooperation and plan to hold the launching ceremony at Zhejiang University in Mid-September of 2019.
The Deputy Dean from school of public affairs, Zhang Weiwen and Associate Professor Liu Zhaohui discussed specific cooperation issues with Professor Rune Svarverud from the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages at the University of Oslo. The two sides had a discussion on issues related to the structure, operational mechanisms, key promotion direction, funding application, exchange visits of teachers and students and sharing courses of the new research center.
The delegation also visited University of Bergen and met with Dag Elgesem, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Bergen, Ragnhild Louise Muriaas, Deputy Dean in charge of scientific research, and Jan Oskar Engene, Dean of the Department of Comparative Politics. The two sides conducted in-depth and specific discussions on the scale of student exchanges, elective courses, scholarships, language training and so on. They hope to sign a cooperation framework agreement as soon as possible and arranged specific contact staffs from both sides.
