Born in 1957, Shi Jinchuan is a professor of economics, with research interests in economics of law and financial and regional development.

Prof. Shi's representative works include Economic Rationality and Economists’ Mission, Economic Growth Mode and Inflation Mechanism and International Comparative Studies on Economic Growth and Disinflation. He has been awarded 8 first, second and third prizes for Outstanding Achievement in Social Science and for Scientific and Technological Progress by national Ministry of Education and Zhejiang Provincial Government, and other 6 first, second and third research prizes by Zhejiang Provincial Educational Commission. Prof. Shi has also presided over more than 20 research projects, such as the project of National Social Science Foundation of China , the major project of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Ministry of Education and the major research project of Philosophy and Social Science Planning of Zhejiang Province.
