Yu Jianxing was born in 1967, Tongxiang, Zhejiang. Yu Jianxing graduated from Fudan University with Ph. D, now works as Dean of College of Public Administration in Zhejiang University. His research fields include national theory, local government and civil society organizations.

He has presided 4 project sponsored by National Natural Science Fund, 4 by National Social Science Fund, and 1 international project. He has published 7 monographs and more than 80 academic papers. He is the author of Coordinating Urban and Rural Development and Local Government, Civil Chamber of Commerce and Local Government, Marx’s State Theory and Modernity. In 2005, he was recognized as one of the “Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Zhejiang Province”.
