The 4th National Joint Annual Meeting of Studies in Science and Technology ,Theory of Science of Science and S&T Policy, 2010 was held in Nanjing Hohai University from April 9th to 11th. The meeting was co-undertaken by the Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature Philosophy of Nature, Science and Technology, Chinese Association for Science of Science and S&T Policy, Theory and Discipline Construction of Science of Science, Qinghua University and Zhejiang University, etc..

The theme of this conference was “Research on global misson, policy and paradigm change of scientific technology”.

There were 13 people in Zhejiang University STS Center present, delivering 17 essays in total. Professor Shengxiaoming and Professor Xuweimin were invited to give speechs. Aimed at current situation in domain of scientific technology, Professor Sheng emphasize on two types of paradigms: social study paradigm and cultural study paradigm. Later on, Professor Xu discussed how to choose the industrial innovation orientation, prominent innovative pattern for traditional manufacturing city. Post-Doctor Pan’enrong was also elected to report in the conference.
