On Mar. 23rd, 2011, Professor Masayuki KOBAYASHI from Center for Research and Development of Higher Education, the University of Tokyo and specially appointed researcher LIU Wenjun paid a visit to the College of Education, accompanied by associate professor HAO Douxin from School of Japanese Culture and Economics, Shanghai International Studies University.
Professor XU Xiaozhou, executive vice-president of College of Education extended welcome to them and introduced the developmental history, school philosophy, discipline setting, talent cultivation, international exchanges and cooperation of College of Education, along with associate professor SONG Jishan, the Foreign Affairs assistant of College of Education. Professor KOBAYASHI gave a brief introduction on the University of Tokyo, “Asian Campus” project, and higher education finance researches. Later, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the “Secretariat of the Global University Network for Innovation: Asia and the Pacific(GUNI-AP)”, “Tracking Studies on World-class Universities”, “the World University Ranking” and “Undergraduate educational system management of ZJU”.
Further on, based on the comparative statistics in medicine, humanities, science and technology and other fields of 9 countries, Professor XU made an analysis on the developmental problems of higher education in China and the world in the last decade. The meeting is of great significance in the mutual understanding, communication and cooperation of the two universities.
