The opening ceremony and welcome party for 2012 China Studies Program was held by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities on Sep. 9.
 

37 CSP students from around the world participated in the ceremony together with their professors, administrative staff of CSP office and student tutors.
 
Mr. Fan Jieping, the founding father of China Studies Program and head of the Foreign Affairs Office, delivered an inaugural speech with a brief review of the development of the program over the past two years. He shared his intentions in founding this program, encouraged the students to face the challenges and enjoy the culture and life in China. 

 Afterwards, the professors appointed for CSP courses extended their warm welcome to 2012 CSP students and offered them a brief introduction to the course syllabus, teaching methods and specific requirements. Two student representatives from Italy and the US extended their heartfelt thanks to Zhejiang University for offering them this opportunity to study in Hangzhou, and expressed their expectation to take the initiative to see a real China through their own eyes. Finally, the tutor representative confirmed tutor time and tutors’ responsibility, promising to render a sincere service to everyone in this program, with which the opening ceremony concluded satisfactorily and successfully.
