Recently, 16 projects, headed by the experts in and outside Zhejiang University, about the system, policies, trade, foreign affairs, international cooperation and development of “One Belt and One Road” were approved.

Zhejiang University Synergic and Innovation Center for “One Belt and One Road” Cooperation and Development was established on December 10, 2014 with the structure of three sub-organizations: Synergic and Innovation Center—research platforms—research center. Research platforms consist of three sub-platforms in three directions: economic orientation, that is, the research platform for the development and opening of “One Belt and One Road”; cultural orientation, i.e. the research platform for the heritage and development of the civilization of land and marine “Silk Road”; legal orientation, that is, the platform for the legal studies on “One Belt and One Road”. Previously, each research team has published 55 papers, 6 monographs (translations), 3 series of books, and 40 projects, in which, there were 3 National Social Science Fund Projects, 3 major projects of the Ministry of Education and 7 National Social Science Planning Projects.

Zhejiang University Synergic and Innovation Center for “One Belt and One Road” Cooperation and Development will design and conduct basic, strategic and forward-looking researches for major national strategies and policies, provide high-level national decision-making advisory reports and finally offer high-quality intellectual support for scientific decision-making by fully utilizing the advantages of disciplines in Zhejiang University, cooperating with over 20 universities and research institutions, e.g. Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and focusing “One Belt and One Road” strategy.
