Chinese-German Symposium of “Migration and Collective Identities”
On July 8th and 9th, Chinese-German Symposium of “Migration and Collective Identities”, organized by Faculty of Philosophy of University of Siegen; School of Marxism and related research institutes of School of Humanities, Zhejiang University, was held in University of Siegen, Germany. Six young scholar of University of Siegen and 4 young scholars of Zhejiang University delivered eight papers on migration and identities in the Symposium chaired by Sigrid Baringhorst, Professor of Politics and Gerd Morgenthaler, Professor of Public Law of University of Siegen. They conducted in-depth academic exchanges crossing values, cultures and ideologies around different issues, e.g. the migration between India and the EU, the migration of Greek doctors to the EU, current Latin American religions and revolutionary movements, the migration of Chinese rural labor to cities, the different influences of Christianity and Buddhism on the identity fragmentation in China and Europe, the religious realities and the prevention of cults in China.
