Pro. John Anderson is the Baird family professor of economics at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is an economist and an advisor to public policymakers in the field of urban economics, public finance, fiscal reform, and tax policy. His academic research and policy advising has been published in more than one hundred journal articles, books, book chapters, and government reports. Pro. Anderson served as a senior economist with the President’s Council of Economic Advisers in Washington, DC, in 2005-06. He has also advised state governors and legislatures, and numerous state agencies in the United States. He is currently a Visiting Fellow with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Cambridge, MA, and conducting research on property taxation. In recent years,he has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Peking University—Lincoln Institute Center in Beijing, conducting research on Chinese municipalities and their public finances.
