Lecture Abstract】:The Mainland Collaboration Scheme for Joint PhD programs is an innovative partnership arrangement that City U of Hong Kong initiated since 2005 to enhance its research impact by developing regionally competitive researchers originally based in leading universities in Mainland China. This talk aims to introduce this scheme in the business school context, with a specific focus on the domain of information systems (IS), for which CityU arguably hosts one of the strongest research groups at the global landscape. The talk will also reveal how interested students could leverage the rich resources offered in the scheme to develop a strong research pipeline on interdisciplinary IS research. It does so by sharing the interdisciplinary research journey of a typical IS PhD student in this collaboration scheme. In particular, it will introduce the students dissertation project on team creativity development in IT project teams fully completed through this collaboration scheme, which makes important contributions by spanning the boundary between IS and management research.
