Zhejiang University Student Won the Championship in the Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games

    On October 22nd 2023, Zhejiang University Student HU Shuting majoring in Martial Arts and Traditional Ethnic Sports from the College of Education attended the Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games on behalf of China and won the all-round championship in the “Women’s Taijiquan of Wushu Taolu” and the honorary title of “International-level Athlete”. Prof. LIN Xiaomei from College of Education of Zhejiang University was invited to be the umpire of this competition event by the International WuShu Federation.

   

    Nearly 80 athletes from 31 countries and regions from five continents participated in the competition event of “Wushu Taolu”. A total of 8 gold medals went to the athletes in two days of this competition event. HU Shuting, a student from College of Education of Zhejiang University performed excellently in this competition event moving in a smooth flow and showing vividly and incisively the implicit and restrained style of Taijiquan, and won the champion with the highest score of 19.533 points.

 



    Supported by the International Sports Federation, the World Combat Games is committed to building bridges between elite sports and grassroots communities. It is after a decade to first restart the World Combat Games. 1582 athletes from 124 countries and regions gathered in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to carry out 16 competition events of Martial Arts in 11 days.
