Professor Benjamin A. Elman of Princeton University was Invited to “Zhejiang University Oriental Forum”

  On the evening of June 25, 2010, Benjamin A. Elman, professor at Dept. of History and Dept. of East Asian Studies delivered a speech named “Rethinking China’s Role in the Global History—1500-1800” in Rm. 138, Zijingang Int’l Conference Center of ZJU. Professor Luo Weidong, Vice President of ZJU chaired the lecture. It is the 52^nd of the lectures of “Zhejiang University Oriental Forum”.

  Professor Benjamin A. Elman, with his abundant historical documents and unique horizon, expanded the thinking of the students and teachers present and offered them new thoughts to review the role of China in the global history. And after the lecture, Professor Benjamin A. Elman had lively and active communications with the audience.

  This is the last lecture in a series of successful programs devoted to Academic Activity Month of Subjects of Arts, ZJU. It was hosted by Research Institute of Social Sciences, School of Humanities and  Center of Song Studies, ZJU.
