Ancient Chinese Literature

    It was approved as the key discipline of Zhejiang Province in 1999; got the right to confer master’s degrees and doctor’s degrees in 1981 and 1986 respectively. The center for post-doctoral studies in Chinese Language and Literature was established in 1998.

    Over the years, studies on the literature of the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, literature of the Tang and Song Dynasties have been the lead in China and are influential in the world. Besides, the discipline has done pioneering work and achieved extensive popularity in studies of Chinese poems in foreign countries.
