    It was approved as the key discipline of Zhejiang Province in 1999; got the right to confer master’s degrees and doctor’s degrees in 1981 and 1990 respectively. A key research base of humanities and social sciences of Ministry of Education—Center for Agricultural Modernization and Rural Development Studies was established.

    At present, it has 43 faculty members, including 10 professors, 23 associate professors, among whom, 23 are below 45 years old. 15 members have doctor’s degrees, 17 master’s degrees. Besides, 1 is listed into 1st and 2nd grade of “151 Talent Project” of Zhejiang Province, 1 as young and middle-age academic leader of institutions of higher learning in Zhejiang.

    Over the years, the discipline has formed peculiar features and advantages in agricultural economic theories and policies, land economic management and sustainable agricultural development, management of small and medium enterprises and agricultural technological economy, etc.
