“Identity Crisis” and National Security—On Huntington’s ‘Who are We?’ fully demonstrates the third factor in defining security, i.e. the relevance of “intersubjectivity” and security, puts forward a new logic diagram of “public issues—politicalization/socialization—security problem”. Besides, it proposes “harmonious and unified doctrines”—the Chinese security “strategy” and theoretic paradigm. In addition, the paper makes the first theoretic introduction and criticism of Huntington’s Who are We in China. The paper was reprinted in entirety by Chinese Social Science Digest in 3rd issue, 2006. It won The Third Prize in International Studies of Excellent Achievements Awards of the 5th Research on Humanities and Social Sciences of Chinese Institutions of Higher Learning.
