The book exerts a great influence in the linguistic world for its theory of three syntactic aspects, analysis of Chinese syntactic structure, elaboration of the Western linguistic theory and methods of using logic tools in studying the language. It won The Second Prize in Linguistics of Excellent Achievements Awards of the 5th Research on Humanities and Social Sciences of Chinese Institutions of Higher Learning.
