To promote the exchanges and cooperation between universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, to learn from the school-running experience and talent cultivation model of universities in Taiwan, a group of 21 Zhejiang University undergraduates and postgraduates, financed by Hengyi International Exchange Scholarship and supported by teachers from Chu Kochen Honors College conducted a 7-day academic exchange and visit to Tamkang University, Taiwan from 20 to 26 February, 2013.
The group received hospitality from the Dept. of Finance, Tamkang University. Tamkang University introduced the development of Taiwan listing system and economic structure strategies and discussed the potential cooperations in finance. Students experienced the simulation stock transactions and had some ideas of the operation of stocks, futures, share options and ETF in the financial market. The group visited Taiwan Futures Exchange on 21st.
In addition, the group visited the campus of Feng Chia University and discussed in depth with the postgraduates of the Dept. of Accounting and Finance. Meanwhile, the group visited the Taichung Science Park and listened to the report from the administration of the Park.
The group visited National Taiwan University in the last two days of the visit. President Zhang Qingrui of the School of Sciences recounted the origin between the School of Sciences of National Taiwan University and that of Zhejiang University and discussed the potential cooperations between two universities. The group also visited Taiwan Stock Exchange in Taipei 101 Building and listened to the report from the Stock Exchange.
