On January 7th, 2019, HUANG Xianhai, dean of the School of Economics, Zhejiang University, and WANG Yizhong, deputy dean of the School of Economics, visited University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ananth Seshadri, dean of the Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Christopher Taber, deputy dean of the Department of Economics, warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides formally signed cooperation agreements, which will cooperate in the “1+1” double master project, the “3+1+1” undergraduate-postgraduate successive training project, summer schools, and the high-end training of entrepreneurs.

According to the agreements, the two sides will start joint training programs for the double-master degree and the combined bachelor’s-master’s degree in 2019. The School of Economics, Zhejiang University will send outstanding undergraduate and master students to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for further study. This cooperation project is a brand-new model for the high-level international talent training of the School of Economics.

After the signing ceremony, both sides held in-depth talks on the specific implementation of the agreements and possible cooperation in the future, and exchanged academic layout, curriculum, student source and employment situation. Both parties hope to establish a long-term cooperative relationship through these agreements and contribute to the cultivation of international talents. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is the second world’s top university that the School of Economics has signed cooperation agreements with, after Columbia University last year, which marks a significant improvement in the international cooperation.
