Established in May 2015, Center for Zhou Youguang’s Language and Literature Studies, Zhejiang University is the first institute of Zhou Youguang’s language and literature studies in China. It owns 6 researchers, 17 distinguished experts outside ZJU and 1 post-doctor. Since its foundation, it has successfully held two sessions of Academic Seminar on Zhou Youguang’s Language and Literature Studies and published collected papers of Studies on Zhou Youguang’s Language and Literature. It has also started database construction, project establishment and Zhou Youguang information collection.

Upholding the World Vision of Mr. Zhou Weiguang, Center for Zhou Youguang’s Language and Literature Studies has close cooperation with Changzhou, Mr. Zhou’s hometown, and works with State Language Commission, Department of Language Application and Administration, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Archives Bureau, Zhejiang University. It is aimed at providing intellectual support for Chinese language research, Chinese language modernization, Chinese information processing and linguistic planning, cultivating high-level talents of international vision and creating harmonious language environment to improve national linguistic literacy.
