Center for Local Governance Studies, Zhejiang University--Key Research Base on Philosophy and Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province
Established in 2006, Center for Local Governance Studies, Zhejiang University (CLGS) is one of the initial key research bases on philosophy and social sciences in Zhejiang Province. Relying on discipline teams and resources of politics, sociology, social history and foreign political philosophy, it strives to build three pillars and four platforms, which is problem-oriented. Three pillars on local governance and construction include studies on rural democratic governance and village construction of Zhejiang, studies on local government management innovation and studies on social organization and urban development. Four platforms of problem-oriented interdisciplinary researches include Platform for Social Science Research, Platform for Governance Policy Research, Platform for Talent Training and platform for transmission of research results on social sciences which exert a positive impact on the public. Three years as a construction circle, Center for Local Governance Studies finally provides three kinds of landmark achievements, namely Zhejiang village transformation and its theory, Zhejiang mode of local governance innovation and urban community governance transformation and its theory.
