Center for Humanistic Tourism Studies, Zhejiang University was established in 2006 on the basis of related disciplines and academic resources of cultural tourism and the cultural industry in Zhejiang University. Focusing on theoretical researches on humanistic tourism and the cultural industry, it integrates the practice of tourism industry in Zhejiang, the characteristics of regional culture and the needs of compound talents of humanistic tourism, and conducts multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted basic theoretical researches on humanistic tourism and the cultural industry through basic theories and cutting-edge vision of tourism science and the cultural industry. It aims to promote studies on humanistic tourism, leisure culture and the cultural industry of Zhejiang University, apply humanistic theories to social practices and contribute to the overall development of humanistic tourism, leisure culture and the cultural industry in Zhejiang. Since its establishment, Center for Humanistic Tourism Studies has organized the First Chinese Summit on Humanistic Tourism, held three seminars on Chinese Culture and Tourism and published four series of Humanistic Tourism. It also provides social counseling and planning services, receiving good social and academic responses.
