Research Center for Foreign Languages and Media Publishing Quality, Zhejiang University was established in 2014 and originated from Institute of Foreign Language Teaching and Media, Zhejiang University which was founded in 1990s. It is the only domestic research institute that has been long relied by the government to participate in the quality control, evaluation, standards and policy implementation of foreign languages in publications.

Serving governmental decision-making and teaching practices and based on quality inspection of English in publications, it strives to build an interdisciplinary research platform combining communication, applied linguistics and computer application, in order to promote interdisciplinary studies and development of new areas. Since its foundation, it has undertaken over 20 projects of National Social Science Fund, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Ministry of Education, and Key Plans on Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province. It has also presided over and participated in the formulation of a number of standards and published monographs and teaching materials. Among nearly 50 academic papers, one was published in Achievement Report, which was commented by central leaders and praised by National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science; some papers can be searched in SCI and SSCI journals and completely reprinted in Xinhua Digest and Chinese Social Science Digest.
