Research Center for Service Sciences, Zhejiang University was established on March 12, 2015, with rapid development and extensive application of new information technology such as Internet, Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data. It takes the rapidly-developing location advantages of Zhejiang Province and Yangtze River Delta in finance, health and old-age services, studies the influence of information data technology on human behaviors and social production and lifestyle, and investigates the product-oriented and commerce-oriented mode, innovation of operation modes and operational competitive strategies. It also pays attention to industrial policies which promote the development of modern service industry and public management policies which determine social welfare for related groups.
Since its establishment, Prof. Hua Zhongsheng, its director, was selected into the list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers of Scientific Decision-making released by Elsevier from 2014 to 2016 for three consecutive years, and won the third prize for the seventh Outstanding Research Achievement Award in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) in 2015.
