Research Center for Asian Studies

Research Center for Asian Studies is an university-level research institute jointly built by Zhejiang University (ZJU) and Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), with Wu Zhaohui, President of ZJU, and Park In-kook, Chief of Affairs of KFAS, as its director general and Luo Weidong, Vice President of ZJU as its director.

 

Since its establishment, Asia Research Center in Zhejiang University has conducted Asia-related academic exchanges and researches and acquired significant achievements through the funding of outstanding research projects, hosting routine academic conferences and publishing research results. It has hosted a dozen of large-scale academic seminars, such as International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of East Asian Regions, International Conference on Koryo Celadon, International Conference on Marine Culture in East Asian Regions, International Conference on Interdisciplinary Asian Studies, Conference on World Cultural Heritage of Hangzhou, International Conference on Tibetan Archaeology and Art, and Iconography and Style History: Methodology of Asian Religious Art Research. Related research results have been published in Collection of Asian Culture and Art; the research, collation, editing and publishing of Collection of Korea Paintings (European Volume) are also ongoing.
