Research Center for Chinese Marine Culture and Communication, Zhejiang University

Research Center for Chinese Marine Culture and Communication, Zhejiang University was co-established by Zhejiang University and Xinhua News Agency in 2013, whose director is Prof. Li Jie, Vice President of College of Media and International Culture. It is one of the initial demonstration bases on the marine cultural industry in China and the first national demonstration base on the cultural industry of Zhejiang University. Its academic team, together with State Oceanic Administration and domestic and foreign experts in the marine industry, are committed to marine culture communication and academic studies. It has its official website and regularly-released Wechat public platform of Studies on Chinese Marine Culture and Communication.

 

Since its establishment, Research Center for Chinese Marine Culture and Communication has completed a number of research projects; it has also published Dream in Blue: Marine Culture and Industry and dozens of papers in high-level publications at home and abroad. It is also actively engaged in academic exchanges and has held several International Forums on Chinese Marine Cultural Industry. It has designed the mascot of Baby Seagull for Research Center for Chinese Marine Culture and Communication and successfully applied for a patent.
