“ZhejiangUniversity—Zhejiang University Entrepreneurship & Investment Cultural Industrial Project Report” Hosted by Faculty of Social Sciences was held on 8th January, 2013. Three cultural research projects lasting for one year were reported on the conference. Mrs. Zhu Guoying, President of Zhejiang University Entrepreneurship & Investment Co., Ltd. and her team listened to the reports from three professors and expressed their interest. Prof. Luo Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University present at the conference delivered his speech. Yuan Qing, Vice President of Faculty of Social Sciences chaired the conference.
Cultural industry, also named cultural innovative industry, refers to the research, development, production and transactions in different industries and links with innovative intelligence and it is driven by the integration of knowledge, technology, economy and culture. Three projects reported cover television media, primary and secondary school education and gardening enterprises. Prof. Li Jie at College of Media and International Culture, Prof. Pan Jian and Prof. Chen Jian at School of Humanities, with their knowledge and vision, explored unique industrial fields. Prof. Luo Weidong recognized the significance of the three projects and pointed out the researches showed the social responsibility of ZhejiangUniversity scholars and the humanities scholars’ understanding of the society was proved and enhanced by the researches. Meanwhile, the interplay between disciplines of humanities and social sciences and the society can not only meet the social demand, but is beneficial to talent cultivation.
