Third High-end Forum on Chinese Strategic Management Scholars Held by Zhejiang University
The third high-end forum on Chinese Strategic Management Scholars was held at the picturesque WestLake on 4th and 5th, May. Over 20 scholars present at the form included Professor Feng Zhiyan, Division Head of Faculty of Management of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Professor Jiang Dongsheng, Director of Editorial Department of Management World, Professor Xi Youmin from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Professor Cai Li, Secretary of Party Committee of Jilin University, Professor Wu Changqi and Professor Zhou Changhui from Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, Professor Li Haiyang from Rice University of America, Chair Professor Tan Jinsong from Schulich Business School of Canada, Professor Yang Haibin from City University of Hong Kong, Professor Chen Shou from Hu’nan University, Professor Zhang Yan from China Europe International Business School, Professor Li Yuan from Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Xu Erming from the Business School of Renmin University of China, Professor Li Xinchun from School of Management of Sun Yat-sen University and Professor Wu Xiaobo, Professor Weijiang, Professor Bao Gongmin, Professor Xing Yiqun and Professor Chen Xudong from the School of Management of Zhejiang University.
On the morning of 4th May, four scholars: Tan Jinsong, Wu Xiaobo, Zhang Yan, Su Jingqin delivered keynote speeches on the co-evolution of institution environment and corporate strategies, the changes and challenges faced by strategic management and its interpretation, the influence of patent number on the IPO valuation of Chinese IT enterprises and the new application of “inertia” on strategic management respectively. In the afternoon, while visiting the Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society to study the Chinese seal engraving culture and other picturesque places, e.g. the Bai Causeway and Yu Yue Pavilion, around the West Lake, the participants discussed the problems, methods, challenges and activities in the Chinese strategic management studies. On 5th, on a visit to Mao Jiabu, an ancient trail for Buddhist worshippers, the experts exchanged their views on the strategic management in a dynamic environment, the influence of key national scientific projects on industrial development, the relationship between government and enterprises, strategic management, centered on the “Strategies, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Integration and Development: Opportunities and Challenges Faced by Chinese Scholars”.
