International Seminar on China-Korea Economic Trade Held in Zhejiang University
The International Seminar on China-Korea Economic Trade, as well as Winter International Symposium of the KCSSS, hosted by Zhejiang University, the KCSSS and the NAEAK, with the support from Zhejiang University Faculty of Social Sciences, Zhejiang University Center for Research of Private Economy, Zhejiang University Research Institute of Social Sciences, Chungbuk National University Industrial Management Institute, Pukyong National University International Geographical Research Institute and Pai Chai University East Asian Research Institute, was held in Zhejiang University from 13th to 16th December, 2013. The Seminar highlighted the cooperation and challenge facing East Asia and discussed the issues concerning the Chinese-Korean industry, culture, education and the interaction between the government and society.
Scholars delivered their speeches centering the theme of “China and International Community”. Professor Emanuel Yi Pastreich, a scholar of Yale University and Director of Asian Studies Institute, Kyung Hee University talked on “Shifting from Pacific security to green revolution: climate change is the biggest threat”; Professor Eun Jong Hak from Konkuk University on “How have the little dragons dealt with the rise of China as a science superpower”; Professor Kang Cheol Gu from Pai Chai University on “Japan's lost decade: lessons and implications”; Professor Qiu Huafei on “China-ROK green economic cooperation under sustainable development strategy” and Park Keun Tae, China’s Chief Executive, on “Overview of CJ China Business”. Later, group discussions were centered “Macro East Asian situations”, “Chinese-Korean cooperations in various fields”, “A comparative study of Chinese and Korean development in different industries”, “Chinese-Korean industrial and government organization structures” and “Studies on Chinese-Korean enterprise investment, politics and economy”, etc.
Those present at the Seminar were more than 50 professors and scholars from over 10 universities and research institutes in South Korea; over 30 professors and scholars from Zhejiang University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Tongji University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Party School of the Central Committee of C.P.C, Xiangtan University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of Finance, Shandong Institute of Politics and Law, as well as the scholars from Vietnam and President of CJ, China.
