The Forum, co-hosted by School of Earth Sciences, Zhejiang University and Geographical Society of Zhejiang Province, was held in Zhejiang University. Those present at the Forum were over 40 leaders and representatives from major Chinese research institutes in historical geography, from relevant departments of Zhejiang Province and Zhejiang University as well as the relatives, colleagues, students and representatives from Mr. CHEN’s hometown Shaoxing.

CHEN Qiaoyi, a distinguished historical geographer, leading authority on the studies of LI Daoyuan and tenured professor of Zhejiang University passed away in Hangzhou on February 12th 2015. The Forum was held to commemorate him and cherish his memory, to better publicize his spirit of scholarly study, carry forward his academic legacy and promote historical geography in universities and research institutes in Zhejiang Province. Professor LUO Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University was present and addressed the Forum.
