The Project of “Integrating Science and Education, Collaborative Talent Cultivation” Officially Launched by Zhejiang University and Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS
To explore effective paths for science and education cooperation and innovate the mechanism for collaborative talent cultivation, under the framework ofthe Center on “The Belt and Road” Cooperation and Development Collaborative Innovation co-constructed by Zhejiang University, Peking University and Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, anagreement for the project of “Integrating Science and Education, Collaborative Talent Cultivation” was signed by Zhejiang University and Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS in Beijing on April 8th. Prof. LUO Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University, Director of the Center on “The Belt and Road” Cooperation and Development Collaborative Innovation as well as leaders from School of Earth Sciences, Life Sciences Institute, College of Environmental & Resource Sciences, College of Civil Engineering, School of Public Affairs, Undergraduate School, School of Science Sciences and China Academy of West Region Development (CAWD), Zhejiang University as well as LIU Yi, Secretary of the CPC Committee and YU Guirui, Deputy Director of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS and other leaders of related disciplines and laboratories were present at the Conference.
The agreement includes four cooperative projects, namely, scholars of Chinese Academy of Sciences giving lectures, scientific research practices of university students, “SHI Jian Elite Students’ Class” and joint training of postgraduates. Therefore, both sides will increase their cooperation in research and talent exchanges as Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS will send experts to give lectures in ZJU and ZJU students will be selected for further studies or research internship in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS.
