On April 12th, Ms. XU Xiaochun, Executive President of Tang Zhongying Foundation signed an agreement with ZJU to donate RMB 5 million yuan for the Project “Digital Protection of Murals in Ancient Grottoes”. JIN Deshui, Secretary General of the CPC Committee of ZJU and Director of ZJU Education Foundation and Prof. LUO Weidong, Vice President of ZJU were present at the signing ceremony.

Tang Zhongying Foundation (China), financed by Mr. TANG Zhongying, a US-based Chinese entrepreneur, serves to support the related projects in 22 institutes of higher learning in China. This time, a research team led by Prof. CAO Jinyan of Institute of Cultural Heritage, Zhejiang University won the final success after several rounds of competition beginning from 2014. It is not only one of the few large-amount financing projects in cultural heritance innovation, but a record high in one single project of humanities of Zhejiang University financed ever.
