On the afternoon of May 21, the 4th Chinese Transformation and Development Forum was held in Zhejiang University. The Forum, co-sponsored by Institute for Public Policy of Zhejiang University, Institute for Public Policy Zhejiang Province and Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, with the theme of “New Openness, New Drive and New Patterns”, addressed some key issues in the opening to the outside world at the new stage. Present at the Forum were more than 200 famous experts, well-known Zhejiang businessmen, students and teachers as well as representatives of local governments.

Those present held in-depth and fruitful discussions concerning development strategies in the new normal period, trends in the new situation, patterns in the new period, experience in the new era, the construction of international industrial parks, mergers and acquisitions, the building of private multinationals, the impact of e-business development on international trade, the opportunities and challenges faced by Zhejiang’s opening up in the new period, etc.

As a key platform, window and think tank for mutual understanding between Zhejiang Province and the other provinces, the Forum is held every two years to offer advice and suggestions to the transformation and development of Zhejiang and China.
