International Conference of 2016 Think 20 Summit Hosted by Zhejiang University and Three Think Tanks
Approved by G20 Organizing Committee of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Conference of “Innovation, New Economy and Structural Reform”, one T20 Summit was held in Anji, Zhejiang Province from June 17 to 19, 2016, attracting approximately 200 experts and scholars in the fields of education, economy and finance from more than 20 countries and regions, China, the United States and Russia, to name just a few.
T20 Summit, a key supportive part of the G20 Summit, is attracting global attention as it is a major platform for global think tank representatives to contribute their wisdom and thoughts to G20 and is of paramount significance to the decision-making and implementation of G20 Summit policies. The Conference was hosted by T20 organizers, namely Zhejiang University, Institute of World Economics and Politics at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China.
Those who addressed the opening ceremony included WU Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University; OU Xiaoli, Leader of Maritime Silk Road Team, Leading Team Office of Promoting “The Belt and Road Initiative” Construction, Inspector of Department of West Development at National Development and Reform Commission; ZHANG Yuyan, Director of Institute of World Economics and Politics, CASS. In addition, Stanley Mutumba Simataa, President of the 38th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO and Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology of the Republic of Namibia make a keynote speech at the Conference.
The Conference, including three parallel forums, namely “‘The Belt and Road’ Initiative and Structural Reform”, “Innovation Driven and New Economic Development”, “Economic Transformation and Upgrading and Talents of Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, aimed to explore the internal relationship between innovation, new economy and structural reform with collective minds and to seek solutions to current world economic problems with Chinese experience, thus providing more strategic options and policy reserves to G20.
