XU Jun, Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program from Ministry of Education and a famous translator, returned to Zhejiang, his hometown recently and was employed as Senior Professor of Liberal Arts of Zhejiang University, working full-time in School of International Studies. Prof. XU Jun is the first academic master introduced to ZJU after the implementation of “Convergence Project of Academic Masters”. As a famous translator and academic leader in the translation of foreign languages and literature in China, Prof. XU has made essential contributions to the research of translation theories and has a major influence in the translation field both at home and abroad. Apart from winning a great number of excellent philosophical and social science achievement awards from Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province, he scored a lot in foreign literature, translation studies, translation discipline construction and the cultivation of translation talents.
