International Summit on “Belt and Road Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, co-hosted by Zhejiang University (ZJU) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), was held in Hanghou on April 22nd, 2017. As a key activity in the celebration of 120th anniversary of ZJU, 80th anniversary of PolyU, 20th anniversary of the cooperation between ZJU and PolyU, the Summit marked a good start for serving social economy and future strategic visions of two universities in the next 10 years. The experts and scholars in the fields of education, industry and commerce, politics shared their views on innovation and entrepreneurship. Those who were present and delivered speeches included Wu Zhaohui, President of ZJU, Li Lu, Director of Education and Technology at Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Tang Weizhang, President of PolyU, Wu Kejian, Director of Education Bureau of Hong Kong SAR and Guo Huawei, Director of Education Department of Zhejiang Province.

With the national “Belt and Road Initiative” in view and the opportunities for the development of industry, commerce and education, the Summit endeavored to explore new ideas in innovation and entrepreneurship from macro and practical perspectives on mechanism design, development strategies and environment analyses of the countries in the Initiative and the development of contemporary Chinese society.
