Center for the Study of Language and Cognition
Established in 2005, Center for the Study of Language and Cognition, Zhejiang University (CSLC) is an innovation base on philosophy and social sciences of the second national “985 Project” and interdisciplinary research center covering linguistics, philosophy, psychology, economics, computer science, neuroscience and other disciplines.
CSLC has an academic team of reasonable age, high academic attainments and innovative spirit, with 1 academician, 12 professors and 20 associate professors, researchers and supporting staff. Three professors have successively served as the chief expert of major projects of National Social Science Fund and Ministry of Education; nearly 10 results have won the second prize for National Teaching Achievement and first, second and third prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement.
In recent years, CSLC mainly focuses on five key research directions: consciousness, mind and behavior, cognitive style of the Han nation and evolution of Chinese language and culture, logical representation and computational simulation of language cognition, computational and cognitive researches on linguistics, and the cognitive law and its application.
Its director of academic committee is Prof. Tang Xiaowei, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and its members include Luo Weidong, Huang Huaxin, Sheng XiaoMing, Fang Yixin, Shen Mowei, Ju Shier, Zhou Changle and other professors. Its director is Prof. Huang Huaxin.
