【Lecture Abstract】：Influenced by education internationalization and multiculturalism, general education courses in Canadian university have increasingly emphasized the introduction of non-European centers’ civilized traditions and diverse humanities concepts. The core curriculum of humanities education also began to contain the philosophical, literary and religious texts of the East. How to choose the appropriate Chinese classic text in the existing humanities education framework of North American universities, and how to make it the basis for understanding Chinese culture and humanistic thinking according to the knowledge structure and learning interest of ordinary undergraduate audiences? The presenter will teach the teaching practice of “Classic Text: Asian Literature and Thought”, “The Red Dream Mansions: a Dream of World Literature”, and “Zhuangzi and Taohuayuan: Natural Thoughts in Chinese Poetry and Garden Art” , so as to share the discussion and experience of these issues.
