The discipline of History of Education in College of Education in Zhejiang University worked with the force of History of Education in University of Wisconsin-Madison, Beijing Normal University and East China Normal University, publishing a special issue “History of Education in China and Beyond” in the first issue of the international journal of educational history, History of Education Review ,2021. Professor Adam Nelson from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Associate Professor Wang Huimin of our university served as the guest editor. During the time, this special issue was strongly supported by the editor of History of Education Review , Professor Julie McLeod of the University of Melbourne. History of Education Review is the official publication of Australian and New Zealand Society for the history of education, and also one of the few special publications on the history of education, published twice a year.

There are six articles published in this special issue, and all of which are from the papers discussed in the Workshop on History of Education of College of Education of Zhejiang University on 30^th May, 2019. Among them, Associate Professor Zhao Kang and Wang Huimin of the discipline History of Education published one article respectively.

 This is the first time that Chinese history of education scholars have collectively published in a special journal of international educational history. And it is a vital step taken by the discipline of History of Education of Zhejiang University and even China. The discipline of History of Education of Zhejiang University will continue to explore and establish a long-term mechanism of international academic exchange and cooperation in the field of educational history research, so as to contribute more to the development of this discipline.
